I am an abstract impressionist painter, living with my husband in central California.

The majority of my work focuses on colorful, whimsical, nature-inspired landscapes and bright bold florals. I am a self-taught artist, working in oil, watercolor and acrylics. I draw inspiration and technique wherever I find it speaks to my heart.

When I am not working in my studio, my husband and I love to travel and spend time outdoors. I was born and raised in a small town in California, and had the privilege of studying environmental science and sustainable living at Sonoma State University in Northern California.

About Michaela

I have always been inspired by the rich history and landscape of the west, and the culture that rallies around it to sustain its beauty and wild nature.

The subject matter for my work is my own expression of stewardship for the land, capturing nature on canvas to preserve its beauty, inspire its protectors, and allow it to reach beyond its location or time.
